DeleteStrawberry poke cake is my absolute favorite summertime dessert! It is so refreshing and I love that the "frosting" is Cool Whip. I could live off Cool Whip. :)

DeleteThat looks so delicious!! I think this might be the perfect summer treat for my boys to help me make! Does the jello change the texture or consistency at all?

Thanks Carmen! I'm sure they would like it. Mine liked cracking the eggs, poking the holes in the cake and pour the jello : ). The jello doesn't turn into regular jello consistency but it makes the cake moister were the jello is. Kinda like tres leches cake but not quit as moist hope that helps.
Deleteso have to try this and hope I don't mess it up...it looks delicious and fun to make though.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen : )

DeleteI've never had that, but it sounds good! I make a " butterfinger" cake that is similar and so delicious. You make a regular boxed cake. Baked & poke holes in it with the handle of a wooden spoon (or similar. Then pour condensed milk & caramel in the holes while ale is still hot. Let cool. Frost with cool whip. Top with 1 crushed butterfinger candy bar. So so so so so good!!!
ReplyDeleteI love butterfinger cake! It's so good! Now you have me craving it :)
DeleteThis was a favorite cake for me growing up. My mother would make it for my birthday every year. She used orange cake mix and lime jello and the frosting was made from vanilla pudding mix and dream whip. Good time!
ReplyDeleteSounds delicious Lydia! I love recipes that have a sentimental meaning it makes them even better:)
