Why Would You Do That?

Me and the boys had some errands to run today. Were in the car sitting at a red light waiting for a train to cross (I don't know why I put that not that that matters). A car pulls up on the side of us. Hard core rap music blasting crazy loud. I look over to see 2 girls with a small baby in the car.

I'm not one to judge others. No ones a perfect parent, we've all had our not so lovely moments (if you haven't at some point you will). But seriously why would you blast music all crazy loud with a infant in the car??

Don't get me wrong I play music, my boys like listening to it to. But your not at a concert it doesn't need to be that dam loud and you don't need to give your kid hearing damage!

The face about sums it up : )

It's Already That Time Of Year Again!

I can't believe it's already that time of year again! Back to school shopping wait a minute it feels like summer barely started! Unfortunately my kids start back up in about 3 weeks August 12th to be exact : (

As I'm sure you can tell I wish we had a little longer to spend together just having fun. No schedules no homework stress you get what I mean.

For some reason every year they keep starting earlier and earlier. Anyway with our countdown back to school starting I need to start back to school shopping. We had some errands to run and I figured I would start getting there school supplies, backpacks and lunchboxes.

Well being the awesome organized mom that I am I forgot to bring there supply lists. I figured no problem I can just look them up on my phone. Well that didn't work cause the schools website was down. That's ok though cause then it dawned on me I need to talk to the school to find out if my oldest needs 2 different list's since he's gonna be in a SES class as his homeroom but also in regular class for certain subjects.

But the boys did end up getting there backpacks and lunchboxes. That was another ordeal in its self. They had a hard time choosing which ones they wanted.  My oldest really had a tough time. I had asked him if he wanted to go with a character one this year or a regular bigger kid one.

He's 9yr old and going into 4th grade. He said he wanted to go with a character one I told him ok that was fine it's his choice. He seems happy with his decision and I buy them.

As were walking out of the store he says I don't know mom what if I look stupid like a baby. I tell him if he's happy and likes it that's all that matters. I  know that's not always reassuring though. Kids can be cruel sometimes. But I want him to be able to choose what he likes not make the choice for him.

Do you let your kids pick there own backpacks? What grade/age do you think is to old for character backpacks?

A Weekend Full Of Throw Up & Diarrhea

Happy Monday hope you all had a great weekend! Ours didn't go how I had planned. I was hoping to take the boys to the water park since it's been so hot. Unfortunately my oldest boy started complaining of a stomachache Friday night.

Come Saturday afternoon the fun started. Constant diarrhea and throwing up. Poor boy couldn't keep anything down or in : (

Today he seems to be feeling better since he's laughing and bickering with his brother. I'll have him take it easy though just in case : )

So tired he knocked out

Strawberry Poke Cake!

We had a cookout with family and for dessert I made a strawberry poke cake and a tray of fresh fruit. Perfect for a HOT summer day. If you've never had one or made one your missing out! They are really light and moist and super easy to make. The boys even helped and I think they did a great job : )

Strawberry Poke Cake
  •  1 box of cake mix & what ever ingredients need to make the cake
  •  1 pkg of strawberry jello
  •  Cool whip
Bake the cake according to the directions on the box. Let the cake cool down a little. Poke holes in the top of the cake. Boil 1 cup of water and add the jello and add 1 cup of cold water mix and pour over the the cake. Refrigerate for 3 hrs and then frost with cool whip.

That's it really easy and oh so yummy! Do you have a favorite dessert you like to take to cookouts?

A Not So Great Start To The day

This morning wasn't the greatest. Were all still tired and trying to recover from our trip. The last thing I wanted to do is wake up to a toilet overflowing! I'm in the kitchen getting breakfast ready and hear what sounds like the tub being filled. I go to see what the heck's going on and find the toilet overflowing all over the bathroom floor into the hall.

It wasn't just a little bit either. I run threw nasty toilet water to try and stop the toilet. My middle boy here's me yell and comes running right into the water filled hall slips and falls hitting his head/ear hard.

It took me almost 2 hrs to clean up and sanitize everything! Mean while the baby's stuck in his high chair crying for me to hold him and my middle boys crying cause his head and ear hurts and he's covered in toilet water. Not such a great way to start the day.

Were Back From The Dells And Exhausted!

Sorry I've been MIA the past few day's. I had planned on a couple posts before we left to Wisconsin Dells but little man got a really bad fever a couple days before we left and those few days were pretty rough. Thankfully the fever broke after 2 days and he was feeling better before we left : )

Saturday was kinda hectic getting last minute things and making sure everything was in order. Packing up as much as I could minus a few things I had to wait till the morning to do.

Sunday morning we got up (to get ready anyway) at 6:00.  Got everyone dressed and fed. Finished getting things ready and tried to make sure I wasn't for getting anything.

Got the van packed and were out the door by 8:00. We stopped to get gas and ice for the coolers. Then we were on our way.

About 70 miles in we were pulled over or rather flagged over. Ended up with a $160 ticket for going 10 mph over. So that wasn't the greatest start but the office let him keep his licenses since we were going outta state.
The ride there wasn't that bad. The kids stayed awake for a little more then half way there.  They all took a little nap between 30 - 45 minutes.

It took us about 3 hrs to get there. The boys were happy ti finally get there : ) We packed a cooler and had eaten lunch in the van on the way up there. So when we got there we were able to go play in the water right away.
We ended up staying at the water park for about 7 hrs before heading to the hotel. The boys knocked out that first night : )

We got up around 6:00 again our second day there and got dressed so we could go have breakfast.  The hotel offered a free continental breakfast. They had a make your own waffle station, eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, coffee, juice and milk. It was pretty good and saved us some $ that's always a good thing : )

Our second day we ended up staying at the water park for over 8 hrs and the boys were wiped out by the time we got back to the room. So we just order a pizza for dinner. They slept great again : )

We decided to let the boys play a few hours the third day before heading back home. We had till 11:00 to check out but just checked out after breakfast and went to the water park.

Little man loved being in the water! They had a tot area with a couple small slides and he loved it so much. He kept pointing and smiling to go down again. He wore us out going over and over but he was so happy and had the biggest smile : )

The ride home wasn't quite as calm. Little man wasn't a happy camper and wanted me to hold him. We had to make a couple pit stops to nurse and let him get out of his seat.

Everyone was beyond exhausted by the time we got home. But the van had to be unpacked and stuff needed to be put away.

All in all we had a great trip! The weather was beautiful so we got to enjoy playing outside and inside. And we were together which is the most important thing to me : )
Sorry this post is kinda long! I took a ton of pics but wont bomb bard you all with all of them : ) I'll just share a few.

Healthier Peanut Butter Cookies. ....No Flour, No Butter

These peanut butter cookies are different then regular ones. They don't use flour or butter.  Your probably think yeah but they probably aren't very tasty.  Let me tell you I was unsure how good these would end up tastes ( I've tried healthy versions of cookies before and most came out tasting so bad you have to spit it out of your mouth ) but I was pleasantly surprised. They are pretty dang good! They even passed the boys approval. My middle one thought he was slick and kept sneaking them off the plate. I walk into the kitchen and there's an empty plate with crumbs left : )

Healthier Peanut Butter Cookies
  •  1 cup of peanut butter (any kind you like regular, natural, homemade)
  •  1/2 cup of sugar
  •  1 egg
  •  1 tsp vanilla
  •  1/2 tsp baking powder

*This makes  about 14 cookies*

Preheat oven to 350°. In medium bowl combined all ingredients and mix together. Take a spoonful of dough and roll into a ball. Place on a ungreased baking sheet. Take a fork and flatten making a crosshatch pattern across the top. Bake around 10 minutes. Let the cookies rest for 5 minutes before removing from the baking sheet.

Enjoy they really are pretty dang good! If you try them out let me know what you think : )

To Wear Or Not To Wear!?!..... Bathing Suit Dilemma

So I have a question for you all. Were going to be going to Wisconsin dells this weekend. I can't wait and the boys are SO excited! They keep asking how many more days till we go.

I'm having a little dilemma. I need to get a bathing suit/swimsuit (what ever you prefer to call it) and I'm having a hell of a time picking one. Do I go with a bikini and shorts over it or do I go with a 'mom' tankini?!?

In case you don't know I'm a 28 yr old mommy of 3 boys ages 12 month's, 7 yr and 9 yr. I'm just not sure which way I should go on this.

I've seen moms wearing bikinis and rocking it. On the other had I've also seen many moms wearing tankini's or 1 pieces and still looking cute not frumpy. Although there have been some that really remind me of something my grandma would wear but I won't go there.

Back to my question what do you wear? What do you think is appropriate? I realize everyone is different and has different comfort levels but I would like opinions. Also if you have a recommendation for a cute suit that would be great : )

I've been to a couple stores so far and tried both kinds on but haven't found one yet. I just wanna be comfortable and still look cute not like a hot mess O_o Oh the pain of shopping for a bathing suit. Why oh why must it be so difficult! Maybe it's just me and I have problems : )

Thanks guys for listening to my ever so important bathing suit dilemma : )

What's For Dinner Wednesday!

I've been slacking on 'What's for dinner Wednesday' posts. But I'm gonna try and get back into it. So tonight I need something quick and easy. We have a lot of errands to run and stuff I have to get ready for tomorrow. So I decided on cheesy roast beef sandwiches and watermelon.

Cheesy Roast Beef Sandwiches
  •  1 1/2 pounds of roast beef (I find that's just enough for 6 sandwiches)
  •  French rolls or what ever kinda rolls you like
  •  Shredded mozzarella
  •  Butter
  •  Garlic powder or fresh finely chopped garlic
  •  Au Jus sauce
1. Preheat your oven to 350°.

2. Take the packet of au jus sauce and whisk it in 7-8 cups of water. Add in the roast beef one slice at a time. Heat over medium heat till thoroughly heated.

3. While the beef is heating up take about 3 tbls of butter and some garlic powder and melt it in the microwave.

4. Line a baking sheet with foil. Butter one side of each roll.

5. Take the roast beef and evenly divide it among the rolls. Sprinkle with mozzarella.

6. Bake it at 350° for 5 - 10 minutes till mozzarella is nice and melted. Use the juice for dipping if you like.

Enjoy! It's super quick and easy but it's really yummy : )
